Remedial Massage

Remedial Massage by Certified Therapist in Sydney

As the name suggests, Remedial Massage focuses on treatments that are Therapeutic and healing. It’s an umbrella term covering various techniques, depending on the practitioner’s training and experience.

I originally trained as a Naturopath, with a strong bodywork component taught by osteopaths, alongside university-level anatomy, physiology, and medical sciences. Early in my training, I even transferred to osteopathy for a time  – that’s how much I was drawn to physical therapies. Although I returned to Naturopathy, I’ve always loved the hands-on side of practice.

Clients appreciate my approach. With a Medical Science degree and extensive college training, I work confidently across a wide range of musculoskeletal issues. And beyond the qualifications, I simply enjoy helping people feel better, whether that’s addressing a specific problem or supporting deep relaxation.

That’s all good and well, but I’m also genuinely enthusiastic about this work! Clients don’t just receive a skilled Remedial Massage – they usually leave feeling revived, more energised and with noticeably less pain, tightness or discomfort. Many describe a sense of lightness or clarity, not just in the body but in their overall mood. That’s the power of hands-on work delivered with skill, care, and purpose.

Steps Involved In Remedial Massage

Depending on the client, a case history may be taken and certain tests may be used to help determine what is happening in your body and causing problems. This way your treatment will be targeted in a way that will help bring you maximum benefit and healing.

Frequently Asked Questions on Remedial Massage

You’ll be asked to fill out some basic details and tell us about what you need from the treatment. Our massage treatments are hand-on and always focused so that you experience an outstanding Massage treatment, addressing what needs t be addressed.

No. The focus is on particular areas that are causing problems.

I always put great importance on being able to relax and enjoy your treatment as much as possible. However, sometimes during Remedial Massage, when you are treating a sore or inflamed area for example, there may be a little discomfort here and there, but never pain. We are always guided by you if something becomes too uncomfortable.

This question ties to the point above. There may be some discomfort if an area is injured for example or if you are working very deeply into tight, fibrous muscles. But obviously there is a limit to this and will are always guided by you. Muscles can feel a bit ‘sore’ or ‘worked on’ after a treatment but this usually goes after a day or so. People call this a “good pain or soreness!”
